Flowers, flowers, and more flowers! If I could have flowers everywhere, I would. That’s what HopeEllen told me the first time we met. So, immediately, she had my attention!
HopeEllen grew up wanting to be married in the same chapel that her parents had exchanged vows in. Her grandmother told me that every time they visited her in Salisbury, they would drive by Omwake-Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College, and she would say she wanted to be married there. Fast-forward a few years; when she and Alan were engaged, she reminded them!
HopeEllen wanted a very classic elegant style. From the bridesmaids in all black to the bow ties made of duck-feathers the black and white dance floor and the Kentucky Derby on a wide-screen TV near a full-on bourbon bar; the whole night screamed of elegance.
From the chapel, the wedding party rode in the trolley to the reception site, the F&M Bank Trolley Barn. There the couple danced the night away under a floral chandelier filled with gorgeous blooms and greenery.
